FLIBS Recap 2022

On October 26 – 30, 2022, Vision Marine Technologies (NASDAQ: VMAR) attended the 63rd annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (“FLIBS”), which attracted approximately 100,000 visitors, and saw 1,200 exhibitors spread over six miles of floating docks and seven locations around Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vision Marine proudly showcased its groundbreaking E-Motion™ 180E (180 hp) fully electric outboard motor and associated powertrain system, equipped onto several next gen fully electric powerboat models.

Additionally, FLIBS gave Vision Marine’s team the opportunity to reconnect in person with marine industry consumers and personnel, subsequent to the unfortunate cancellation of IBEX Tampa 2022, due to threats from Hurricane Ian. Attendees who stopped by Vision Marine’s booth were prompted with a market analysis questionnaire put together by industry experts and partners. Marine industry consumers were polled on their preferences, apprehensions, and expectations regarding ownership of electric boats, thus helping Vision Marine stay up to date with consumer needs.

Among the various powerboats in Vision Marine’s booth was the 2023 22” Four Winns H2E runabout, the first product launch from Vision Marine and Groupe Beneteau’s seminal partnership. The prototype of The Limestone Boat Company’s 2023 Seventeen Fifty-Two 2.1 Center Console EV also made its public debut. The Seventeen Fifty-Two is Limestone’s first fully electric model in the company’s initial expansion throughout their brand portfolio. Vision Marine also displayed its groundbreaking Guinness World Record holding V32 32” HellKat widebody catamaran. The world’s first production fully electric high performance speedboat.

The V32 garnered a tremendous amount of attention. The V32 made its debut in August 2022 at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, in which its pilot current F1 H20 World Champion Shaun Torrente reached a jaw dropping 109 mph, shattering and setting the world electric boat speed record. The V32’s initial hull construction began in collaboration with Rey Marino, the late founder of Hellkat Powerboats. Upon his unfortunate passing, Vision Marine began a new akin design in honor of Marino, alongside Torrente and his Shaun Torrente Racing (“STR”) team.

Fox Sport ran an Interview with Alexandre Mongeon, CEO.

Over the course of the five day event, Vision Marine met with numerous media outlets, including Fox Sports, which filmed a video segment featuring an interview with Vision Marine CEO and Co-Founder Alex Mongeon. Mr. Mongeon discussed Vision Marine’s innovative high performance E-Motion™ propulsion technology and its electric speedboat V32 which ran at 109 MPH at the lake of the Ozark. The segment aired on Fox Sports’ one hour special on FLIBS, which made its debut on November 5. The special will continue to rerun on FOX Sports 2 (FS2) and Fox Sports Racing in November and on Fox Sports 1 (FS1) throughout December.
